An event that is colorful, fun, and tasty is scheduled to take place in Anaheim, a short distance from La Palma.
Holi Fest – Festival of Colors is presented by the Federation of Indian-American Associations, and is held to celebrate Holi. Westerners are becoming more aware of this celebration due to its most recognizable characteristic, which is the brightly colored powders participants toss at each other. People wear white for the day, specifically so the colors will be easier to see.
As well as tossing the colorful powders, festival attendees can dance to live music and sample a variety of food from booths. People who plan to attend should note that colors can be purchased at the event, and for safety reasons, and in accordance with city regulations, they are not allowed to bring in outside colors.
The celebration goes back as far as the 4th Century. As well as symbolizing the victory of good over evil, it welcomes the arrival of spring after a long winter.
The Holi Fest is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, from 11.00 am until 4.00 pm, at La Palma Park in Anaheim. The event is free, and so is parking, but advance registration is required. Organizers of major events like this will often work with printing companies that use poster printing to create suitable advertising.
