The Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts in the La Palma area is hosting a concert by country music singer-songwriter Lyle Lovett this fall.
Performing alongside his Small Large Band, Lovett’s show and ongoing tour is a break from his now-quiet country life raising his twin elementary-age girls on his Texas ranch.
Now in his late 60s, Lovett is getting back into the swing of things with a recent performance at the large California country music festival Stagecoach this past spring.
With his signature mix of folk, country, blues, gospel, and swing, Lovett has cemented himself as a unique voice in the American music canon across 14 albums, spanning the better part of the past half-century.
Along the way, Lovett has picked up multiple Grammy Awards, including the 1997 award for Best Country Album for The Road to Ensenada and the 1990 award for Best Male Country Vocal Performance. He also picked up two Grammy Awards in 1995 for a pop collaboration with Al Green and a country collaboration with Asleep At The Wheel.
