John Legend fans here in La Palma will be delighted to hear Legend is holding a concert at a venue in the area this August.
Performing at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts, the 13-time Grammy Award-winner is putting on a show called An Evening of Songs and Stories.
Born John Stephens, the performer has embodied the spirit of his stage name, Legend, by becoming one of the few performers in history to earn an “EGOT,” the collective name for an artist who has scooped up at least one Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony throughout their career.
Developed and initially performed from 2023 to 2024, An Evening of Songs and Stories involves Legend engaging in non-musical interludes up to 45 minutes long, between songs, where he talks about his life and even shares personal photos.
The stage show also involves Legend performing classic gospel standards, in addition to his own catalogue of hits, and incorporating wardrobe changes during the set.
Last year, Legend took a pause on the “Songs and Stories” concept to focus on touring for the 20th anniversary of his multiple Grammy-winning album Get Lifted.
Concerts like these may choose to use banner printing to create marquees, stage decorations and vendor Signs.
John Legend - An Evening of Songs and Stories is happening on August 1 at 8 pm at the Cerritos Center for the Performing Arts at Lar Enterprises, 12700 Center Court Dr, a short distance from La Palma.
