One of the pleasures of summer is enjoying outdoor activities, and La Palma has scheduled events everyone will enjoy.
The City of La Palma’s Community Activities and Beautification Committee is presenting Concerts in the Park, which are perfect family outings. The upcoming concerts are by the artists Savor, AstroYachts, and Identity Theft The Band.
Savor is a tribute band for Santana, formed to honor the great musician’s fifty-year career. The musicians in the band have diverse backgrounds, especially the percussion section, which enables them to handle the complex Latin rhythms of Santana’s music.
AstroYachts play yacht rock, a music genre that blends disco, R&B, smooth jazz, and smooth soul. Originally known as the “West Coast sound,” yacht rock is characterized by catchy melodies heard in songs like “The Boys of Summer” by Don Henley. The AstroYachts are based in Los Angeles and play classic yacht rock songs like “Baker Street” by Gerry Rafferty, and Styx’s classic “Come Sail Away.”
Identity Theft The Band is a cover band that concentrates on the hits of the 1980s. A high-energy outfit. Identity Theft’s setlist includes “Take On Me” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody.”
All concerts begin at 6.30 pm at Central Park, and food trucks will be on hand. Savor plays July 11, AstroYachts rock up on July 18, and Identity Theft The Band plays July 25. Parking and admission are free. Organizers of concerts like this often use poster printing to create advertising for them.
