Baltimore-based rapper to appear near La Palma

A rapper who almost single-handedly ignited the scene in Baltimore will appear near La Palma.

Shordie Shordie is a Baltimore native who has risen to become a star in Baltimore and has connected to his audiences with his honest look at the city he loves. He dreamed of a career in football, but that dream vanished when he was injured. At a loss, he spent a lot of time just hanging out with friends, aimless, until something told him, in his words:

“You gotta go to the streets.”

After a spontaneous neighborhood session, Shordie found himself in the studio, and the Black community responded. It was the feedback he got from his audience that kept him going, especially because there were few Black rappers in Baltimore at the time. He and his brother Lor Dee, along with his cousin Purp, formed a trio known as Peso Da Mafia. They released “Money Man” in 2017, which was a hit in the area.

Shordie broke out in 2018 with his “Captain Hook” mixtape. One song from it went Platinum, making Shordie the first rapper in Baltimore with a Platinum single to his credit.

Shordie will be at Bleu Restaurant & Dancing at 14160 Beach Boulevard in Westminster, a short drive from La Palma, on February 11. Organizers of events like this can create handouts to advertise it using flyer printing.
