Mesa regional parks observe full moon

Three Maricopa County regional parks are presenting programs that involve enjoying the mid-September full moon.

Cave Creed Regional Park, 37900 E. Cave Creek Parkway, Cave Creek, will offer Field Observations: Full Moon! From 7:00 pm until 8:30 pm. A ranger will give a guided tour along an easy-moderate trail. Guests are to meet the ranger at the Nature Center. They are to bring flashlights and water and wear sturdy shoes.

Here in Mesa, Usery Mountain Regional Park, 3939 N. Usery Pass Road, will have its own Full Moon Hike that evening from 7:30 pm until 9:00 pm. This 2-mile hike will also be guided by a ranger and guests will get to experience sounds and sights of the night desert. Again, hikers will need to wear closed-toe shoes and bring their own water and flashlights.

White Tank Mountain Regional Park, 20304 W. White Tank Mountain Road, Waddell, will offer a walk along the 1.9-mile Waterfall Trail. This trail will be a moderate walk and water and close-toed shoes will be necessities. Flashlights will be optional. Hikers are to meet their guide at Area 6 by the restrooms by 7:30 pm. This hike should be over by 8:45 p m.

Pictures taken during experiences such as these can be breathtaking and many can be taken to local Print shops or Stationery printers for duplicates or for Calendars and note cards.

These full moon walks will take place on September 14th.
