What's Happening in Mesa, AZ…

Mesa attends Winter Wonderland

Mesa will still have time to visit Superstition Springs Center's Winter Wonderland, which will close in February.

This walk-through festival has been lit with millions of lights that sparkle as guests enjoy the snow, snowmen, penguins, snowflakes and larger-than-life fantastical creatures and storybook characters that depict fairy tales.

Eclectic photo booths offer themes ranging from fairy tales, enchanted forests to abstract designs some of which are customizable. Each booth has unique lighting and special effects, and photos are printed instantly. One photo opportunity is a rose garden lit by 35,000 LEDs.

Families that get pictures taken at events such as this often take the photos to local stationery printers to use in their Christmas cards for the following year.

Circus performances are shown throughout the evening, and sensory experiences include interactive art installations that react to movement, touch and sound and glowing tunnels. Immersive activity rooms will offer laser mazes, Glow-in the Dark Art, a bouncing ball room with giant inflatable balls, and a ball pit.

Nine endless mirror rooms are filled with mind-bending mirrors creating optical illusions, and children are invited to play in the bubble and snow areas.

Winter Wonderland is currently open Sundays through Thursdays from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm and Fridays and Saturdays from 5:00 pm to 11:00 pm at Superstition Springs, 6505 W Southern Avenue. The last day will be February 17th.
