CMI Chat Media, host of a nationwide food festival series, is bringing a Dumpling Fest to Mesa in mid-March.
Many restaurants here in Mesa will be participating, offering tasting plates of their specific dumpling styles. Some of these will include Indiana kofta, Nepalese momos, Chinese potstickers and soup dumplings, Korean mandu and Mexican tamales.
This will be a self-guided tour, appropriate for all ages. Guests will begin their gastric journey at 1948 W Broadway Road where they will receive tasting wristbands, digital or printed maps, a list of restaurants and route instructions. The route may be done in any order, and guests may take their time as there will not be a fixed schedule. Along with the tastings each stop will offer culinary and/or cultural notes.
Guests will need to supple their own transportation as no shuttle will be provided. Each restaurant will either check off the guests' tasting cards or affix a restaurant stamp onto the wristbands when guests leave.
National festival series like this often have any local paper items, such as route instructions, and participant lists printed at local Print shops.
Tickets will be $69 per person and must be purchased online. Add-ons may include full-size orders, specialty dumplings, side dishes like noodles, soups and fried rice, and desserts like sweet buns, mochi, pastries, drinks and retail products like sauces and frozen items.
Dumpling Fest Mesa will take place March 18th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
