The Mesa Arts Center is currently hosting a series entitled ‘Performing Live’, and three concerts are scheduled for late January and early February.
The center’s Brochures say that the first will be an evening of old-fashioned, simple storytelling, as Moth Main Stage will feature true stories told live. Five storytellers will be sharing their tales without notes or anything between them and the audience. Moth, which is a nonprofit organization, has presented over 3,000 stories to standing-room-only crowds around the world.
A few days later, the series will present an immersive multimedia experience- the Fourth Light Project. Here, interactive technologies will meld with sacred dance and contemporary Middle East live music. The multi-sensory experience will be enhanced with narrative including poetry and folk songs from Niyaz’s native Iran.
Post Secret the Show will feature three actors and a guitarist as they tell true personal stories of humor and humanity they found behind secrets. They use images and videos to accentuate their stories. This will be a stage version of the six best-selling Books created from the popular Post Secret blog.
Moth Main Stage will be at 8:00 pm, Friday, January 26 at the IKEDA Theater on the Mesa Arts Center Campus, 1 East Main Street.
The Fourth Light Project will perform at the Piper Repertory Theater, Wednesday, January 31 at 7:30 pm.
Post Secret the Show will also be at the Piper Theater and will be performed on February 6 at 7:30 pm.
