Ukelele festival set for Glen Allen
The Virginia Ukapalooza 2023 will take place in Glen Allen next month to celebrate all things ukelele and to educate the public about ukelele music.
Hosted by VA uke community, the annual festival focuses on different aspects of ukelele music and instrument playing each year. All registered ukelele groups and interested attendees will be offered extensive opportunities to play the ukelele and learn more about it as an instrument. For example, registered ukelele groups will give special performances that will be professionally multitrack audio recorded and turned into a video. Likewise, attendees will be invited to join a jam party, where they will be provided song charts and play in a giant ukelele group; this session will also be recorded.
Learning opportunities include workshops taught by experienced ukelele players. These workshops are open to all ukelele players, regardless of level or ability. Events like this that include a learning component may also feature printed learning materials, such as brochures or instructional booklets, which can be professionally printed at local print shops specializing in brochure printing services and other jobs.
The ukelele festival will take place on Saturday, November 4, from 8:30am to 5:30pm. It will be held at The Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen, which is located at 2880 Mountain Road. General admission tickets are priced at $75.
