Glen Allen to Light the Night for charity

Glen Allen will be hosting the Richmond-area Light the Night event this November and raising money to combat blood cancers.

The event will begin with an opening ceremony followed by a one-mile commemorative walk. Walkers can bring service animals, strollers and wheelchairs, with the goal of making the event accessible as possible. The walk will conclude at a festival area with food vendors, music, and a laser light show to truly light up the night.

The Glen Allen Light The Night is one of over a hundred events across North America designed to raise money and support The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The organization provides tools and apps to help raise funds and draw on their community, with the goal of raising money for treatment and research into cures. Walkers can also donate as part of a team representing their workplace, school or community.

The event will provide commemorative T-Shirts for those who provide large donations, as well as for survivors of leukemia, lymphoma and other blood cancers. Survivors will also carry a lit white lantern, contributing to the event name. Fundraising events like this often provide Promotional Products and souvenirs as donation incentives and to help raise awareness of the cause year-round.

The Richmond-area edition of Light The Night will take place at Lake Brook in Glen Allen on the evening of November 1.
