Lovers of the 1990s alternative rock boom may be interested in an upcoming Glen Allen concert, headlined by Blues Traveler.
Blues Traveler are known for hits like “Run-Around” and “Hook”, with their live shows often celebrated for their inventive segues. The band also often allows attendees to receive a recording of their live show with an advance order, with tapes and bootlegs being frequently traded among fans. The current touring group includes original vocalist and harmonica player John Popper, guitarist Chan Kinchia, and drummer Brendan Hill.
Supporting Blues Traveler will be rock group Gin Blossoms, who broke out in 1992 with the release of their single “Hey Jealousy”. Opening the evening will be the Spin Doctors, performing hits like “Two Princes” and “Little Miss Can’t Be Wrong.” VIP experiences will be available for all three bands.
The tripleheader is part of the After Hour Concerts series, and specifically the National Headliners Series. The series will bring other 90s icons like Hanson and Indigo Girls to town in August, along with an assortment of tribute shows and original acts. Concerts like this often use flyer printing and radio advertising to help attract fans old and new to experience their favourite songs in a new way.
The Blues Traveler, Gin Blossoms and Spin Doctors concert will take place on the evening of August 27 at The Innsbrook Pavillion in Glen Allen.
