Virginia area improvisers will square off for charity this April in the St. Baldrick’s Day event, with hair on the line in Glen Allen.
The event will see two teams of improv comedians compete in different games to accrue points and to see who can get the most laughs. The losing side must have their head shaved bald, along with their “Loyal Fans.” The show will use the competitive ComedySportz system and format to crown a winner. Viewers can register as potential shavees to join in the fun and possibly come home with a new haircut.
Potential shavees will raise money from friends and family, with online donations also encouraged. All money raised will go towards the St. Baldrick’s Foundation, which funds research into cures and treatment for childhood cancer. Top donors will be recognized through an online leaderboard.
St. Baldrick’s Day has become a tradition for ComedySportz Richmond, with this being the 19th annual edition of the fundraiser. This year’s event hopes to break previous records and be the biggest yet. Charity events like this often feature extreme challenges along with advertising such as flyer printing and social media videos in order to attract attention and “go viral.”
The 2026 St. Baldrick’s Day Richmond event will take place at ComedySportz Richmond in Glen Allen on the evening of April 11.
