The Henrico County Division of Parks and Recreation will be holding its annual tree lighting event in Glen Allen this December, welcoming all to experience holiday cheer.
The event will feature performances of festive classics by the Henrico Pops Chorus, the Glen Allen High School Band, the Midnight Ukelele Society, and other local musical artists. Young visitors can participate in a holiday craft hosted by Richmond Family Magazine. There will also be a Festival of Trees holiday exhibit full of decorated holiday trees.
One of the main attractions for families will be a visit from Santa Claus, with photo opportunities and direct interaction with children. The event area will also include a gift shop for holiday items, with hot chocolates and sweets additionally available for sale. The day will conclude with the official lighting of an extra-large cedar holiday tree at the heart of Glen Allen.
This will be the 27th annual edition of the holiday tradition in Glen Allen. Festive events like this often use methods like banner printing and public speakers to help create an atmosphere and recognize community sponsors. Vendors and performers for the celebration are gathered from the Richmond metro area community through an online application.
The 2025 Annual Tree Lighting and Holiday Performances will take place at the Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen on the evening of December 6.
