Spanish culinary experience to tantalize Glen Allen taste buds
In September, Glen Allen’s Publix Aprons Cooking School will host the VIP Food and Wine Experience: Spanish Wines and Tapas edition.
The Publix Aprons Cooking School is a culinary program organized by the Publix grocery chain. It offers fun and informative food experiences, such as cooking classes, demonstrations, and tastings. The VIP Food and Wine Experience features a wine and food sampling based on different cuisines of the world. The Glen Allen event will focus on Spanish wines and tapas.
The evening will begin with chef-inspired aperitifs with a Spanish twist. The tapas menu will include food such as marinated chicken skewers with spiced yogurt, bacon-wrapped chorizo filled dates, and garlic shrimp toasts with romesco (tomato sauce to be eaten with seafood). A wine reception featuring Spanish wines to pair with the small bites will begin at 6:00 pm.
There will also be an optional two-course dinner offered at 7:00 pm that will continue experience should guests be interested. This must be purchased separate from the win and tapas tasting.
The Spanish Wines and Tapas Experience is scheduled for Saturday, September 4. The tasting will cost $25, while the two-course dinner will be $30. Both will occur at Publix Aprons Cooking School at Nuckols Place in Glen Allen.
