Glen Allen to learn importance of wine glassware

James River Cellar Winery in Glen Allen will host the Discover Series: Riedel Glasses - New Styles for Red Wines event next month to teach how glassware can affect the taste of wines.

James River Cellar Winery is a family-owned winery founded in 2001 by wine-making hobbyist Ray Lazarchic, and is now owned and operated by his daughter Mitzi and her husband, James. Together, they have developed the winery into a unique blend of quaint ruralness and urban convenience, being beautifully landscaped and tucked into the countryside, but also accessible to major highways.

The winery frequently holds wine-centered events, such as tastings and workshops, to engage with its customers. The Discover Series: Riedel Glasses will explore why different styles of wine glasses only work with certain wine varietal styles. The class will feature Riedel glasses for the tasting and will offer samples of a red wine, a white wine, and a rose wine. Attendees will learn how glass size, shape, and rim diameter work together to affect how a wine will taste.

Wine events are often detailed in advertising Brochures, which can be printed professionally at local shops specializing in brochure printing.

The wine class is scheduled for Sunday, December 11 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm. The winery can be found at 11008 Washington Highway. Tickets are $65.
