The Richmond Makers Market will take place in Glen Allen this December, aiming to bring together creators and entrepreneurs.
The event will feature over 40 artists, craft vendors, and makers from throughout the Central Virginia area, with the goal of attracting customers looking for a late holiday gift or just a personal treat. There will also be food and drink, with local roasters The Daily Coffee on site with seasonal blends. The Cultural Arts Center’s four art galleries will also be open with free admission, with visitors encouraged to explore the galleries in between their shopping. This will include the Gumenick Family Gallery’s Opening Minds Through Art exhibit, based on the Scripps inter-generational art program for people with dementia.
The December event will be the second of four dates for the Makers Markets season, with all to be hosted at the Cultural Art Center. The event series debuted on September 14, and will continue into 2025 with instalments on March 22 and May 10. The event is spearheaded by Marie D’Angelo, who also founded the Basic City Makers Market. Artisans and craftspeople often use local methods such as marketplace events or promotions from printing services to help grow awareness of their craft.
The winter 2024 Richmond Makers Market will take place on the afternoon of Sunday, December 15 at the Cultural Arts Center in Glen Allen.
