Next month, Pactamere Farm will hold the Goat Soap Felting Workshop and Goat Cuddles for those in Glen Allen wishing to have a fun and cuddly crafting experience.
Pactamere Farm is an alpaca and goat farm that offers special events and classes such as goat yoga, animal therapy classes, and craft workshops. The workshop happening in April will combine alpacas, goats, and soap-making to create a unique experience for the whole family.
The goat soap felting class will teach participants how to make a soap encased in alpaca felt, all while being visited by the farm’s Nigerian goats. Ideal for beginners of felting or those who have had some experience, the class will go over the process of wet felting and how to apply 100% pure alpaca fibers to goat milk soap. After the class is over, attendees will get to take home two felted soaps, which can be used for washing and exfoliating. Organizers recommend felted soaps as an eco-friendly option suitable for children and those with dexterity issues.
Organizers may choose to advertise such workshops in community centers, where Flyers can be hung. Local shops specializing in flyer printing can help organizers with such efforts.
