Glen Allen cooking class to showcase Mardi Gras
To kick off the Mardi Gras Festivities next month, Glen Allen’s Publix Aprons Cooking School will host the Mardi Gras Celebration Cooking Class.
The Publix Aprons Cooking School is a program that provides cooking classes and food demonstrations in different cuisines and involving various food themes. February’s class will showcase the carnival foods popular during Mardi Gras. It will be a demonstration-style class, which means that attendees can relax and watch as expert chefs prepare the dishes step by step.
The class menu will feature small plates of short rib-stuffed beignets and duck and andouille gumbo. The main entrée will be blackened beef tenderloin with a cream sauce and side of trinity risotto, and King Cake will top off the meal. Participants are encouraged to ask questions as the chefs go through each recipe. The class is designed for attendees 18 and older, and wine will be served to those 21 and up.
Demonstration classes like this may make use of brochures advertising what the class will be like, which is a service organizers can find at local brochure printing shops.
The Mardi Gras Celebration Cooking Class is scheduled for February 26 from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. It will take place at the Publix Aprons Cooking School at Nuckols Place on 5400 Wyndham Forest Drive. Tickets are $65.
