Elite womens basketball headed to Glen Allen

The 4 Tha Culture Women’s Holiday Hoops Classic will take place in Glen Allen this Thanksgiving weekend, aiming to showcase some of the top NCAA women’s basketball teams.

The tournament will feature seven Division I programs playing scheduled games across three days. The VCU Rams and Richmond Spiders will look to hold down the court in their home state, welcoming FSU, Ohio State, St. John’s, Coppin State, and Dayton. Each team will play two games against preselected opponents. The first two days will feature three games apiece, and the tournament will conclude with a showcase between VCU and Florida State.

The event is designed to showcase basketball culture in Virginia and the DMV region, as well as promote high-profile matchups, which will be televised or streamed on platforms depending on the conference. Advertising for the Classic states:
“This electrifying event brings together top programs, highlighting the skill, athleticism, and passion that make women’s basketball a must-watch spectacle."

The tournament is hosted annually with the support of local sponsors and volunteers. Neutral-site college basketball tournaments and showcases are a Thanksgiving weekend tradition, often using banner printing and halftime events to recognize local contributors and culture.

The 2026 4 Tha Culture Women’s Holiday Hoops Classic will take place at the Henrico Sports & Events Center in Glen Allen from November 27 to 29.
