In August, Glen Allen locals will get the chance to participate in a Vietnamese-Style Smokehouse cooking class hosted by Publix Aprons Cooking School.
The Publix Aprons Cooking School is a series of cooking demonstrations and lessons created and hosted by Publix grocery stores. The cooking lessons are offered both online and in-person, with the Glen Allen event following the in-person format.
The cooking class in August will feature a unique fusion of Vietnamese cuisine with Cajun ingredients. The lesson will be hands-on and taught by expert chefs, who will walk participants through each step. The meal being prepared will also use smokehouse cooking techniques to create interesting dishes such as dry-rubbed BBQ brisket pho, grilled lemongrass marinated chicken wings, and Carolina pulled pork banh mi.

Registration price includes the demonstration, ingredients, and food samples. Wine will also be offered to those 21 and older, and registration is restricted to those 18 and older. Reservations are required and are offered on a first come, first served basis.
The class is scheduled for August 4, beginning at 6:00 pm. It will take place at Publix Super Market at Nuckols Place at 5400 Wyndham Forest Drive, Glen Allen. Tickets can be purchased for $55.
