Residents of Henrico County can seek assistance in paying their rent from the Henrico COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program.
The program is able to assist individuals and families that come from eligible households, and may have had their income affected of late. The applicants must show that they have been affected by furloughs, job loss, cuts in pay, or reduction number of working hours brought on by the pandemic.
So far, the federal CARES Act has given $360,000 to cities in Henrico County such as Glen Allen to fund initiatives such as this.
Application Forms printed in both Spanish and English can be found at Henrico’s Department of Social Services. The forms can be downloaded and printed off the DSS website or residents can request to have them mailed to their address. As of the beginning of this week, residents have also been able to go to the Social Services offices in person and collect the form. Application forms tend to feature official Letterheads.
Henrico residents who are approved for the program will be able to get up to $1,500 for four consecutive months in the form of rental payments. The money can be used to pay for overdue rent, late fees, and court fees.
