The Colonial Christmas at Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown celebration is taking place this month for two days.
Scotchtown was the home of Patrick Henry from 1771 to 1778. The original house still stands and has been enhanced by reproductions of outbuildings and gardens representative of the time. The venue hosts several special events through the year and also holds classes.
The facility has been decorated for the holidays by the Ashland Garden Club. Visitors will be able to take house and candlelight tours while they enjoy live entertainment. They can also see a demonstration of Colonial dancing from the Cuckoo Dancers.
Food and drink will be available, including hot cider and Martha Washington cake.
To get further into the Christmas spirit, visitors can also sign up for a boxwood wreath workshop, which will also feature other holiday crafts. The workshop costs an extra $8.
No doubt many families from Ashland and surrounding areas will make this celebration a part of their holiday plans. To advertise, organizers of such events often invest in poster printing services.
The Colonial Christmas at Patrick Henry’s Scotchtown will be held from December 10 to 11. Admission is $8 for adults, $7 for AAA members and military personnel, $6 for seniors, and $5 for students. The boxwood wreath workshop will take place on December 10. To find out more about this event, call 804-227-3500.
