What's Happening in Ashland, VA…

Ashland Train Day is returning for its 22nd year this April in downtown Ashland.

The street festival that celebrates all things train-related includes volunteer opportunities and vendors, thanks in part to support from local organizations, including Amtrak Virginia and Renewal by Anderson, among others.

With activities around every corner, an interactive map is available to help participants navigate through all of the stops, including the Ashland Feed Store, the Ashland Museum and Red Caboose, Caravati’s Architectural Salvage, the Ashland Food Mart, and many more destinations that range from historical sites to modern eateries.

There are also plenty of things to do for children, including a Kid Zone featuring bouncy houses, an obstacle course, games and face painting. Heavy-duty machines will also be out in the open for viewing pleasure, including fire trucks, dump trucks, tractors and ambulances, by RCI Builders.

Festivals like this may choose to use Print shops to create official event merchandise.

Ashland Train Day is happening on April 25 from 10 am to 4 pm near Thompson Street and North Railroad Avenue in downtown Ashland. Though local streets may be closed, there is nearby parking at the Ashland Hanover Shopping Center, the Ashland-Junction Shopping Center, the First Baptist Church Ashland, and handicap parking at Henry Clay Elementary School, with public transportation options that serve as shuttles to and from the event.
