Running event speeds into Ashland

The Ashland Railroad Run is returning for its 47th year this March.

With its scenic views of rails and trails in the heart of Ashland, the Railroad Run includes a variety of subcategories to choose from, including a 10K, a 5K, or a combination of both races, known as the COTU Challenge. For a race with a less intense pace, the Kids Fun Run is also open to athletes ages 3-12.

There are also virtual versions of all the races, meaning they can be completed anywhere at the participant’s own pace.

All proceeds for the races, whose sign-up fees range from $17 to $65, benefit the Hanover Arts and Activities Center. A partnership with Arsenal Events has made this year’s event possible.

T-Shirts are available for people who sign up online by March 3, with the race itself taking place more than two weeks later. Awards, broken into male and female subcategories, include recognition for the first-placed finishers in several races. Running events like this may choose to use banner printing to create starting lines and Signs for vendors or activity zones.

The Ashland Railroad Run is happening on Saturday, March 21 at 8:00 am near the intersection of Cox Lane and South Center Street in Ashland. In addition, an in-person packet pickup day is happening the day before, on March 20, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at the Hanover Arts and Activities Center at 500 S Center St in Ashland.
