Tomato festival to take place near Ashland

The annual Hanover County Tomato Festival will be hosted near Ashland this July.

Since 1978, people local to Ashland and other areas of Hanover County, as well as visitors from out of state have attended the festival. Originally, the festival attracted only a modest number of visitors, but has since grown to include well over a hundred vendors and larger crowds of attendees. The organizers of such events often use poster printing to attract the attention of those who are interested in attending.

This pet- and family-friendly event will feature tomato-themed dishes including chips, burgers, wraps, and tacos. For children, a play area will be available that includes a Best Dressed Tomato Contest, rides, inflatables, and face painting. The Bow-Wow Beach pet cooling station will be available for dogs present at the festival.

Over 150 vendors that offer a wide variety of handcrafted items will also be attending the event, including vendors such as Amnageek, Exllibris, Drew's Tomato Art, Custom by Angie, and Perfectly Soy Candles, LLC. Banner printing is often used by vendors at similar festivals to add eye-catching decorations to their booths.

This Friday and Saturday event is set to occur at Pole Green Park in Mechansville on July 10 from 5:30 pm to 8:00 pm and on July 11 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
