This year, Ashland continues its tradition of hosting a Strawberry Festival. The festival is moving to a slightly different location this year, although the basis of the festival is the same.
The festival has been a yearly occurrence since 1982, and has grown since then. This year’s will feature vendors, live music and entertainment, and arts and crafts areas.
Music will be played on the Fountain Stage from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Fountain Stage is also where the Strawberry Pageant will be taking place – this is a non-competitive way to select Miss Strawberry and Mister Strawberry for the year. Names are drawn from a basket to select winners. Those wishing to sign up must register by June 1.
There will be trolleys available on the day of the event. Trolleys will pick up at four separate locations and drop off at the festival to allow for easier parking. Strollers are allowed on the trolleys, although foldable ones are recommended.
There will be many vendors at the event, ranging from local businesses, to nonprofit organizations, to arts and crafts, to food. Many of them will likely have taken advantage of printing services and will have Business Cards or informational Flyers or Brochures on hand.
The festival will be open rain or shine, and is free to the public. It runs from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, June 15.
