The 6th annual Siskiyou Challenge is taking place next month in Ashland, providing a fundraising opportunity for Rouge Valley Farm to School.
The race consists of six legs along a 46-mile course, where participants alternate between cycling, kayaking, mountain biking, and running. Awards will be given to the top finishers in various categories. Participation fees are $110 per person, $170 for two, $350 for three to six, and $405 for a corporate team. Packages can be picked up at the Rouge Valley Farm.
Prior to the race, on April 29 starting at 5:00 pm, there will be a barbeque at Emigrant Lake.
After the race, the public is welcome to the Fun Run and Harvest Fest. Fees for the Fun Run are $5 for children, $10 for adults, and $20 for a family. The Harvest Fest will give families the opportunity to try several hands-on activities, learn about local agriculture, and take a tour of the farm. Other activities include a farm obstacle course and a raffle.
Athletes from around the area, including nearby Medford, will want to participate in this challenging event. It is likely that the information the participants received was printed by a local printing services company.
The Siskiyou Challenge will take place at the ScienceWorks Hands-on Museum on April 30 from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm. Call 541-579-3656 to learn more.
