Musicians from the Richmond Symphony will be giving a performance in January at Randolph-Macon College in Ashland.
Suites for Strings is a special program where people can listen to talented string performers. The event will include songs from poetic works such as Visions and Miracles, This Mortal Frame, and the Divertimento of Bartok. The conductor of the program is Valentina Peleggi, who has been working as the Richmond Symphony's music director since 2020. She was previously a resident conductor for the São Paulo Symphony Orchestra. Schuyler Slack will accompany the performers on the cello.
The Richmond Symphony is a performing arts organization that includes an orchestra with over 70 professional musicians and a 150-person choir. The group was founded in 1957. Many events are organized by the symphony, such as the Summer ChamberFest, Pops Series, and Metro Series. People can help the organization through individual donations, and companies may become corporate sponsors for the orchestra. Sponsor benefits include being sent invites to private events and logo placement in playbill ads.
The concert will be held on Sunday, January 22 at 3:00 pm and will take place inside the Blackwell Auditorium. The admission price is $25 for adults and $15 for college students or children. Performing arts organizations that hold public concerts such as this may use brochure printing to make educational programs for their guests.
