What's Happening in Ashland, VA…

The annual event ‘Light up the tracks’ will return to Ashland this holiday season.

For the past five years, the Downtown Ashland Association has lit up the city each holiday season with a large number of dazzling lights. Every evening for one month, Downtown Ashland is transformed into a display of illumination.

Thousands of colorful lights will stretch for one mile down the railroad tracks. Local businesses, shops and houses will also be decorated with Christmas lights in honor of this festive event. Poster printing is often used to alert residents about event information and dates.

Thanks to the sponsorship of Dominion Energy, shops, homes and train tracks will be provided with enough lights and power to transform Downtown Ashland into a cozy Christmas village.

This event will be free and open to the public. All Ashland locals, as well as any travelers who happen to be passing through, will be welcomed to admire the illuminating light display and participate in one of the many available Christmas activities. Many holiday celebrations, sales, and festivals will take place alongside the Light Up The Night event for three action-packed weeks.

This festive event will take place from Sunday, December 1 to Wednesday, January 1. On each evening, the lights will be switched on from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
