The Richmond Strong Powerlifting Meet is set to take place close to Ashland this April.

River City Fit and Richmond Strong will host this athletic event. Strength Coaches Laura Mae Lucas and Cassie Niemen are in charge of organizing the meet, which includes three different powerlifting divisions, including benching, squatting, and deadlifting. Each division will be specific to gender and weight class, and awards will be given to the winners of each section. The event will adhere to International Powerlifting Federation (IPF) rules, although there will be no requirements for specific attire.

Both beginners to powerlifting and advanced athletes from Ashland are welcome to register for the meet. Tickets to the event are priced at $40 per individual. Spectators can attend for free, although each person will be able to donate an optional $5 at the venue entrance. Organizers of similar meetups frequently utilize poster printing to create visually prominent advertisements that can be hung throughout relevant locations where they will attract the notice of people who are interested in joining or attending.

Proceeds the Richmond Strong Powerlifting Meet generates will help to support the Virginia League for Planned Parenthood and The Women’s Strength Coalition.

This powerlifting meet is scheduled to begin at River City Fit in Richmond from 7:30 am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 17.
