Festival sees the New Year in

The Dominion GardenFest of Lights is taking place in Ashland until mid-January.

The festival features half a million lights set up to decorate trees, pathways, and buildings. There are also biological decorations, train rides, a fire pit with s'mores, and hot chocolate to purchase, along with several special events.

One offering is the New Year's Eve Family Frolic, which will be held at the Kelly Education Center. Guests will have the opportunity to make a party hat, take part in a hillside tumble to roll in the New Year, and have their pictures taken with the Gardenkeeper and the Butterfly Fairy. Another of the events is GardenFest for Fidos, at which everyone is welcome to take their dogs for a walk through the garden.

To let Ashland residents know about this event, organizers may have invested in flyer printing services, since Flyers are inexpensive to produce and effective in spreading the news about upcoming events.

The Dominion GardenFest of Lights is showing at the Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden until January 12 from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm each evening (it is closed on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day). The New Year's Eve Family Frolic will be held on December 31 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm and GardenFest for Fidos takes place on January 8. Admission is $12 for adults, $11 for seniors, and $8 for those between the ages of 3 and 12. Members receive a discount.
