The UCI Road Word Championships are taking place for eight days in Richmond during September.
This event is set to feature more than 1,000 cyclists from 75 countries. They will compete in groups of elite men and women, under-23 men, and junior men and women. There will be road races and individual and team trials.
Several VIP options are available for those who want to get the best view of the races, with prices ranging from $150 and $250 at the finish line pavilion, to $250 up to $475 at Libby Hill. VIP tickets include catering and viewing the race on TV monitors.
The opening ceremony is being held at Brown's Island on September 18 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm. Admission is free and there will be entertainment from the Richmond Symphony and Rayvon Owen. Guests are asked to register in advance and bring a chair.
Several other events will be taking place in the city related to the races. These will include a bike bazaar and a pop-up pavilion featuring shopping, food, and cultural entertainment in the Manchester district.
There are expected to be over 450,000 spectators for these races, no doubt coming from nearby Ashland and other local districts. Organizers may invest in poster printing services to advertise.
The UCI Road World Championships will be held from September 19 to 27 at the Greater Richmond Convention Center. Call 804-788-5828 to learn more.
