Ashland to offer conservation workshop to landowners

Capital Region Land Conservancy (CRLC) will be holding an informative course in March at the Ashland Public Library.

The Conserve Your Land: Hanover Landowner Workshop is a program where representatives from the CRLC can teach people about how they can protect local water sources and land. Staff members from the CRLC educate attendees on the financial benefits of conservation easements. The event is intended for landowners and farmers who live along the Pamunkey River. Guests can include any questions they have for the workshop when they register online.

The CRLC is a non-profit that was formed in 2005 to increase Richmond, Virginia’s conservation efforts. The programs and resources offered by the organization help educate people about voluntary land protection tools. The CRLC is part of many groups, including the James River Park System Invasive Plant Task Force, Virginia Conservation Network, and Land Trust Alliance. The organization is also involved with properties such as the Bandy Field Nature Park and Rogers Woods.

The conservation workshop will be held on Tuesday, March 28 from 6:00 pm to 7:15 pm. There is no cost to attend the CRLC’s event. Companies interested in supporting the organization can buy a sponsorship package between $500 and $5,000. Sponsors will get benefits like verbal recognition at CRLC events and having their Logo Design placed on the group’s website.
