Ashland to host boat captain training event

A one-week Captain’s license training program is scheduled to take place in Ashland next month.

GLC Training is the organizer and host of this professional course and has been training students in the maritime industry since 1989. The organization is US Coast Guard Approved and qualified to license graduates of its programs officially. The company often holds remote online classes as well as in-person licensing programs across the country in states such as Virginia, Florida, California, Alabama, Connecticut, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Texas, New York, and Minnesota.

For seven days, the 100 Ton Master Captain’s Course will teach Ashland participants how to captain large boats safely and efficiently. Vessels and boating expeditions participants will become qualified to operate include rescue and towing vessels, ferry boats, cruises, excursions, fishing charters, dive boats, marine salvage vessels, day sailing charters, and vessel deliveries. When organizing professional training events, the hosts often prepare instructive printed handouts at community Print shops in order to provide each student with informative program materials.

Those who are serious about captaining water vessels professionally can register for the event online for a fee of $995 per person.

This comprehensive seven-day licensing course is set to proceed from Saturday, February 6 to Sunday, February 14 at the Fairfield Inn. Each of the week’s classes will begin at 10:00 am.
