Ashland to hold business workshops for farmers

The Dominion Energy Innovation Center in Ashland will host a series of events in February that help those in agriculture improve their business operations.

The Ag-X Business Planning Workshop for Ag Entrepreneurs is a multi-session program where farmers can learn important skills for managing their companies. The sessions will cover topics such as strategic thinking, human resources, marketing strategies, and project financing. The event's primary goal is to help farmers develop a comprehensive analytical framework for assessing new projects. The series is a collaborative effort between the Dominion Energy Innovation Center and SCORE Richmond.

The workshops in the program will be taught by Glen Sink and Jett Odle. Sink is an entrepreneur and mentor for SCORE Richmond who has worked with many types of companies, including agribusiness entities and medical businesses. Odle is the co-founder of the Rivers Edge Coffee Company and mentors food producers, artisans, and farmers. He started the coffee company in 2018 alongside his brother.

The series of agribusiness workshops will be held on select dates between February 1st and February 29th. Each course will take place from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. There will also be a sixth optional session offered on March 28th. The cost to attend the programs is $125 per person. Companies in charge of educational events like this can use banner printing to attract more business owners to their workshops.
