Ashland run to benefit local activity center

Ashland will organize a race on the Stony Run Trail in May to raise funds for the Hanover Arts & Activities Center.

The Ashland Railroad Run is an event where athletes can take on a course that goes over local train tracks and through wooded paths. The fundraiser will offer several challenges, including a 10K, 5K, and fun run for children. All participants in the fun run will receive a prize, and only the top three finishers of each gender category in the other challenges will receive an award. Shirts for the event will be available to those who register before May 2.

The Hanover Arts & Activities Center is a building that was initially used as a church before the Ashland Junior Women's Club purchased it. The center's executive director is Sara Wright-Holloway, who has been involved with the organization since 2007. Many events are organized by the activities center, such as the Ashland Musical Variety Show and Spring into Painting with Dan Bartges. People can support the organization by becoming a patron, with a minimum contribution of $1.

The fundraising run will be on Saturday, May 13 at 8:00 am. The cost to participate in the 10K is $45, and the price of the 5K is $40. Kids may join the fun run for $17. All fees will increase after April 23. Local organizations promoting events like this can use Print shops to create distributable materials such as Flyers and Posters.
