The Ashland Branch Library will be offering a course in July where adults can learn how they can change the lives of local kids.
The EveryDay Strong Training program is a class that shares practical strategies for supporting the mental health of minors. The framework for the course was created by The United Way of Utah County. The lessons at the event show adults how they can help children feel safe, connected, and confident. The support that the kids receive will help them fight against growing issues like depression and anxiety.
The presenter for the course is Joseph Feldman, the Prevention Training Coordinator for Greater Richmond SCAN. The organization aims to prevent and treat child abuse by using its programs to promote positive parenting and strengthen families. The core values of the group include a trauma-informed lens and a strengths-based perspective. Many events are held by SCAN, including the Blue & White Ball and the Progressive Dinner & Auction.
The training session will be on Tuesday, July 18 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. There is no cost to hear Feldman’s presentation, and people may reserve their spot at the event in advance. Those who want to support Greater Richmond or The United Way of Utah County can donate online or volunteer for the groups. Programs like this may use printing services to make informative pamphlets for people to take home.
