Ashland will once again be participating in the Tiger Trot, which is now in its 12th year. It will be held on a Saturday, and will consist of a 5K run, a one mile, and a half mile fun run.
The 5k run or walk is the primary feature of this event. The course winds through historic Ashland, and is a flat course. It can also be used as training for other upcoming races and events. The first race will be the half-mile fun run, which is open to children ages 10 and under, and will begin at 8:00 am. The one mile run, for children ages 14 and under, will begin at 8:15 am. The 5k, open to all participants, will begin at 9:00 am.
This event supports the PTAs at both the Henry Clay and Gandy Elementary Schools. The PTAs use the funds gathered from this event to purchase classroom materials and allow for special events that benefit the students, staff, and teachers.
Registration is currently open. The half-mile and one-mile runs are $15 each, while the 5K is $25. There will be family-based activities after the run as well. Events like this often benefit from banner printing, as a banner is an easy way to advertise and gain attention in the community.
