The Hanover Vegetable Farm in Ashland will be organizing a festival in October for families to enjoy.
The Gourds, Goblets, and Ghouls Festival is a multi-day experience where guests can partake in several seasonal activities while listening to live bands. Attendees can pick a personal pumpkin from the on-site patch, go on a hayride, and take a trip through the corn maze. There will also be a petting zoo and giant sandpit. Visitors can pay an additional fee to fire the farm’s corn cannon and get their faces painted.
Several wineries will also take part in the festival, such as Hunt’s Vineyard and the Mattaponi Winery. Food for the festivities will be provided by restaurants like Dominic’s of New York, Southern Spud, and RVA Street Foodies. Participating dessert vendors will bring a wide selection of sweets, including fried Oreos, donuts, milkshakes, and ice cream. Merchants selling goods during festivals similar to this may promote themselves using banner printing.
The seasonal event will occur on Saturday, October 16th and Sunday, October 17th. Adult admission will cost $20, while tickets for children can be bought for $10. Grownups who do not want a pumpkin can pay $15 to enter instead. Those who purchase their tickets online will receive a discount. Guests may bring their leashed pets and chairs to the event. No umbrellas, tents, or outside foods will be allowed at the festival.
