Ashland continues tradition of harvest run

This year marks the 16th annual Ashland Harvest Run/Walk, offering a 5K and 10K option. The race benefits two Virginia community programs.

This year’s race will benefit Ashland Volunteer Rescue Squad and The Arc of Hanover. The latter serves and advocates for individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, while the former has been serving the community for over 60 years, and helps to transport people in medical emergencies as well as providing medical support at community events.

The race will begin and end at Ashland Carter Park. Maps for both routes are available online, and the routes are certified by US Track & Field. Participants should be aware that parking in this area may be limited, and should plan accordingly.

Those who register early are guaranteed race T-Shirts. There may be extra shirts for those who register late or even day-of, but these will likely be given out on a first come, first served basis.

This type of event often uses printing services, as there are many community sponsors that may have Banners or ads printed along the race route. Race packets will be available to pick up the day before at Patrick Henry Y from 5:00 to 7:00pm, or from 6:45 to 7:45pm on race day.

The 10K portion of the race will begin at 8:00am, while the 5K will begin at 8:10am on Saturday, October 19.
