Ashland celebrates Independence Day with a festival

The 4th of July Parade and Celebration is returning to Ashland for another year. It is a presentation of the Ashland Chamber of Commerce.

The theme of this year's celebration is ‘This Land is Our Land’. The day will start off with a two-mile and 10K run beginning at 7:30 am from the Ashland Library. Later on, a parade will travel from Triangle Park, along Siskiyou Boulevard to East Main, ending at Water Street.

The day will be filled with music from the Hanover Concert Band and other local musicians. There will also be ceremonies, such as the reading of the Declaration of Independence and the Gettysburg Address.

Other events will include a patriotic pet contest, an apple pie bake off, and a family activity fair. In addition, Lithia Park will be hosting a vendor and craft fair. Local artisans will be on hand to sell such homemade items as ceramics and jewelry. Food will also be available for purchase.

The celebration will end off with a fireworks display sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce.

Banner printing services in Ashland will likely be approached by many of the groups or businesses taking part in the parade, offering a way for their name to be seen.

The 4th of July Parade and Celebration will take place at various venues in downtown Ashland on July 4 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Call 541-482-3486 for more information.
