The 39th annual Ashland Railroad Run and Green Faire is taking place this month. It is presented by the Hanover Arts and Activities Center.
The run consists of a 5K, 10K, and one-mile fun run for children. Runners can also compete in the COTU challenge in which they compete in both the 5K and the 10K. Fees for the 5K and 10K are $25 each in advance or $35 on the day, the fun run is $10, and the COTU (Center of the Universe) Challenge is $35 in advance or $40 on the day of the race. Participants will receive T-Shirts while supplies last.
The run will be followed by the 9th annual Green Faire. The fair gives local environmentally friendly companies the opportunity to showcase and sell their latest products and services. In addition, several area community organizations related to the environment will be providing information to the public about their programs and services.
The bibs and other paper products that runners will require will likely be provided by an Ashland Stationery printing company.
The Ashland Railroad Run and Green Faire will be held at the Hanover Arts and Activities Center on April 22 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, while the 5K and fun run both begin at 8:00 am. For more information about this event, or to register as a runner, call 804-798-2728.
