The Ashland Strawberry Faire is taking place in Ashland this June, with a portion of proceeds going to fund local scholarships.
The fair will be held on Henry Street, near Randolph-Macon College. There will be two stages set up to provide entertainment from local performers and groups. Children will be able to compete in the Little Miss and Little Mr. Strawberry pageant, or play games in the Kids’ Zone. There will also be arts and crafts, food, and commercial vendors. Needless to say, there will be lots of strawberry treats of all kinds.
There will be separate areas set up for vendors. Ashland Alley on Henry Street will feature businesses from Ashland, while the Hanover Home Show on Patrick Street is for Hanover County businesses. Arts and crafts and food vendors will also have separate areas.
In order to make the vendor booths more interesting to the public, organizers are giving out prizes for the most attractive ones. They will be judged on originality, attractiveness, and presentation. This may prompt some of the Ashland vendors to contact their local banner printing company to help. A colorful banner hung over a booth can add a lot of interest.
The Ashland Strawberry Faire will be held on June 7 from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm. Admission is free. To find out more about the fair, visit the official event website.
