Canonsburg Town Park to get makeover and pavilion
A new pavilion, new pathways, and public restrooms are all part of a plan to give Canonsburg Town Park a facelift.
Fundraising is in full swing to build a new pavilion at the Woodland Road entrance by next summer. The Woodland Road entrance is in the center of Canonsburg, and has been on the radar for some improvements for a while.
The Canonsburg Park Board says it has the money to build the pavilion ($90,000), however it still needs to raise another $35,000 to build a separate restroom facility. The board is going to partner with a group called Friends of the Park to start a community fundraising campaign in early 2020. A ground-breaking ceremony is scheduled for that spring.
The building is designed to be more than 860 square feet, and will have a capacity of between 50 and 80 people. It will be available for rent to the public when it opens next summer.
The new pavilion is just one of many improvements being made at the park, which first opened in 1923. An old shelter will be removed, pathways, bridges and parking lots will be improved, and new signage will be put up to improve the look of the entrance at Woodland Road.
With graphic and logo design skills at the ready, print shops can be an invaluable resource for organizations wanting professional-grade signage products.
