Acoustic duo to visit Canonsburg
A band that took a 25-year hiatus is back and rocking the area again.
Jim and Joe, who are known as “The Good Guys,” began performing when they were teenagers. After separating for a quarter-century due to familial obligations, they reunited and began performing again, as an acoustic duo.
In the 1970s, the two were part of a Pittsburgh-area band known as “Hausen,” which was making a name for itself in the Tri-State area. Radio station WOMP FM, located in Bellaire, Ohio, listed their song “Only You” and #16, and “How Do You Do,” which was rated #2. Hausen opened for well-known bands like Sha Na Na and Steppenwolf, and Lou Christie chose them as his back-up musicians.
Today, The Good Guys also are associated with the “Good Guys Trio and Band,” and adapt the band to the occasion and venue, with configurations ranging from three to seven musicians.
The setlist is a virtual soundtrack of his from the era of classic rock. Audiences can expect to hear hits like “Ain’t to Proud to Beg” by The Temptations, “Listen to the Music” by the Doobie Brothers, “You Wreck Me” by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, and a wide variety of songs by The Beatles.
The Good Guys will be at Jacksons Restaurant & Bar on Corporate Drive on October 28. They plan to play from 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm. When this type of event is scheduled, organizers can publicize it by using poster printing to create advertising.
