Newark to organize historical preservation conference
Heritage Ohio will hold an event in Newark for those interested in the revitalization and preservation of local landmarks.
The Heritage Ohio Annual Preservation & Revitalization Conference is a multi-day event where industry professionals and fans of historical structures can network and hear from subject experts. Many sessions will be held during the convention, including Introduction to Ohio Building Code, Historic Properties & Affordable Housing in Ohio's Appalachia Region, and Understanding Retail Trends. Guests can also meet with vendors at the conference.
There will be several activities at the preservation convention, including tours of notable landmarks. Attendees can visit the Newark Arcade before it opens to the public, and there will also be a tour of the Newark & Octagon Earthworks. Other events at the conference include the Heritage Ohio Annual Awards & Film Fest, the Main Street Networking Session, and a workshop on conducting community surveys using the Ohio Historic Inventory.
The preservation and revitalization event will be held from Tuesday, October 15th to Thursday, October 17th. Tickets to the conference are $350 for members of Heritage Ohio and $400 for nonmembers. High school and college students may pay $50 for their tickets. The tour of the Newark Arcade is free for all conference attendees. Groups that hold niche events like this may use flyer printing to promote their conventions to more consumers.
