Newark event returns to benefit local group
A Newark event is hosting its annual run in a month to help a local organization that serves the community’s youth.
Moundbuilders Motor Mania 2025 is the 8th edition of an event which benefits the city’s branch of DeMolay, which focuses on helping boys and young men between the ages of 12 and 21 by teaching them about leadership, civic duties, and responsibility. DeMolay was founded by Frank S. Land in 1919, originally starting in Kansas City, Missouri. Alumni include individuals such as Walter Cronkite, Fran Tarkenton, Walt Disney, David Goodnow, and John Wayne. The Newark branch is known as Moundbuilders DeMolay.
Moundbuilders Motor Mania is a car show in which participants can compete for one of 30 different awards. Cars of any type are welcome, as long as they are registered and the $10 fee is paid. Those who are just watching can attend for free. The first 100 registered vehicles will get Dash Plaques. There are door prizes available, and guests can enjoy music and food on site.
Judging will start on the vehicles at 12:30 pm, with the awards being given out at 2:30 pm. The venue is Newark Eagles, and the show will run between 10:00 am and 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 24. Print companies that offer logo design services can help make eye-catching T-shirts for this type of event.
