Newark celebrates movie soundtracks

A February event is showcasing a piece of films that is crucial to the overall project to a Newark audience.

The American Movie Classics is a show from the Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra. The concert focuses on the soundtracks of a number of beloved films, showing how much the sounds add to the atmosphere and impact. Some of the movies that have pieces of their scores included are “Hook,” “On the Waterfront,” “Pirates of the Caribbean," and “Robin Hood.” The musicians will be providing live music, making the experience more immersive for the viewers.

The show is open to audiences of any age, so families can experience moments from some favorite films in a different way. The venue for the performance is The Midland Theatre. Tickets come in three price options. These are $20.25, $32.75, and $40.25. Tickets can be purchased through the show’s page on the venue’s website. The site allows buyers to select specific seats from what is available at the point of purchase.

The Midland Theatre is renting the stage to NGSO. The venue has continually showcased live performers in a wide variety of styles and subjects, providing audiences with a diverse set of viewing options throughout each year.

The Newark event is scheduled for February 23rd. Many concerts use promotion techniques such as flyer printing during the advertising process. The performance will be starting at 7:30pm.
