Train to take passengers through history in Newark

A train adventure is being planned in Newark for this April, providing area residents with a unique way to explore Ohio’s history and celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.

The 250 Buckeye Train & Transportation Celebration will be embarking from Newark soon, and interested parties can book their seats for a ride through history. The experience is being organized by the Dennison Railroad Depot Museum, and the journey will take guests from Newark to Dennison, Ohio.

The journey aims to commemorate America’s 250th year by taking guests along the Pennsylvania Railroad’s Panhandle Line on the path toward Columbus. Guests will enjoy a nostalgia trip while experiencing a journey that 22 passenger trains made daily during the golden age of train travel. Organizers can promote such events using services like flyer printing to place colorful notices around town, increasing participation and awareness.

Attendees will also travel the same paths as several U.S. presidents, including Abraham Lincoln, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Harry S. Truman. It will be a memorable day of experiencing immersion in Americana. Onboard entertainment will include historical segments, storytelling, music, and impersonators. Light snacks will be included for all ticket holders.

The train will embark from 46 3rd Street in Newark at 8:00 AM on Sunday, April 26th. First Class, Deluxe, and Coach seating will be available. Interested parties can reserve their spots online, starting at $135 per person.
